Swarm Creativity

01/03/2016:   THIS SITE IS NOW ARCHIVED. THE NEW EVOLUTION OF THE SWARM CONCEPT, CALLED SWARM DYNAMICS CAN BE EXPLORED AT  WWW.SWARMDYNAMICS.ORG

What we need to do is inspire fresh engagement and a wider commitment to urgent action on climate change and the systems of enclosure, inequality and manipulation that keep us on this self-destructive path.

We believe that fresh creative ideas that generate new narratives are essential to activating the mass-behavioural change required to tackle these issues.

So for us, at this critical point in time, art without a message is meaningless.

Creativity needs to arm itself with true purpose and engage with the sharp needs of the real world.

And no creative idea is too small if it in some way contributes to the Swarm Purpose and the narrative briefs we are developing.

If creative output of that one idea can shift just one person’s perception of what is tolerable – of what needs to be challenged and changed – then that creative idea has a role to play in Forever Swarm do is inspire fresh engagement and a wider commitment to urgent action on climate change and the systems of enclosure, inequality and manipulation that generate new narratives are essential to activating the mass-behavioural change required to tackle these.

For example, what makes the concept of our ‘economy’ so unchallengeable?

Break it down: who does it really serve?

And why can’t it be more radically re-thought and changed to improve the well-being of all people and provide a more sustainable future for future generations?

Why is it so hard to hear about viable alternatives? To explore the unrealised/suppressed options of a ‘steady-state’ or ‘de-growth’ economic structure?

Is our existing value system enforced from above, designed to lock us into a one-track economic outlook?
Why do we consume so much? Is it through need – or the built-in obsolescence of products designed to require replacing after an unnaturally short life span?

Art and culture can help us creatively explore these questions and bring them in front of a wider audience.

So what we want is artists, film makers musicians, writers and creative thinkers who are willing to work across multiple platforms, reaching out to multiple communities and challenge the way things are.

Talk to us – find out how the Forever Swarm can strengthen and amplify the work you are already doing, cross-connecting with other creatives and with our partners to deliver a message to the wider Swarm audience.
